Personal injuries - trespass to the person
1. I, Peter Kelly, President of the High Court pursuant to the provisions of Order 36, rule 2(c) of the Rules of the Superior Courts (Trial) 2012 (S.I. No. 355 of 2012), hereby direct that the trials of personal injuries cases where the cause of action arises out an allegation of assault or battery and which would, but for this direction, be set down for trial at a venue outside Dublin, shall be set down for trial and be heard at Dublin. The foregoing applies to cases which have yet to be set down.
2. Any case the subject of this practice direction which has already been set down for trial at a venue outside Dublin shall forthwith be transferred to Dublin by application to the Deputy Master sitting in the Master’s Court at 10.30 a.m. on any Monday in Hilary Term 2017.
