Common law motion list
Practitioners are requested to advise the court of any motion the hearing of which is likely to exceed 15 minutes
Please note that adjournments for periods of less than two weeks will not be granted unless there are strong reasons for so doing
Orders for judgment in default of appearance and judgment in default of defence
Practitioners are asked to note that applications for adjournment by consent to strike out by consent and to extend time to deliver a defence by consent in relation to motions listed in common law motion lists 1 (save motions listed for the sitting of the court] and 2 will be dealt with at 10.30 o'clock by the registrar in the court to which the lists are assigned.
Practitioners are asked to note that where the court grants judgment in default of appearance the order will not be drawn until the solicitor for the plaintiff lodges a certificate of no appearance with the registrar. Certificates of no appearance should be bespoken at the public counter of the Central Office.
Practitioners are asked to note that where judgment in default of defence is granted the order will not be drawn unless and until the plaintiffs solicitor lodges with the registrar (if not already produced to the court) a certificate of no defence, that is a copy of the statement of claim with an indorsement thereon signed by the plaintiffs solicitor dated as of the date of the order that no defence has been delivered to the statement of claim and an affidavit of delivery of statement of claim has been filed.
