We are delighted to welcome Professor Diarmaid Ferriter back to the Round Hall next Thursday, at 6.30pm for our next Four Courts 100 lecture to mark the Decade of Centenaries.

Professor Ferriter’s lecture looks closely at the factors motivating those who occupied the Four Courts in 1922 and the dilemma of their opponents as well as the British government’s perspective on the Irish crisis that year. It will also discuss the manner in which historians have written about the Four Courts crisis and how newly released archival material allows us to reflect on the short and long term consequences for both the occupants and those involved in removing them.

If you would like to attend the lecture you can book at ticket here. It will also be recorded and streamed for the Courts Service YouTube account.
