EMAIL CALLOVER for County Westmeath’s Circuit Civil & Family Law Sittings October 2020
Westmeath has two weeks for Civil and Family Law in October 2020.
The available dates are as follows:
Athlone - Week of the 6th October 2020
Mullingar - Week of the 13th October 2020
I enclose herewith the list of civil & family law cases on hands for hearing at Westmeath Circuit Court.
Due to Covid 19, I will be fixing these lists by way of email correspondence. Please advise by email the position regarding your case(s) as follows:
(a) Title of case and record no.
(b) Is it ready to go on;
(c) How long will the hearing of the case take - please be accurate;
(d ) How many people will attend the hearing including witnesses;
(e) Any matters arising from the Covid 19 emergency;
(f) Is there a capacity for hearing the case or any part of it remotely.
All the parties in each case need to email the court office to call a case on.
Please confirm your direct email for you to be contacted by the Court office.
Cases called on by consent will be given priority for hearing.
Please ensure all parties in each case are included on the email to the Court office so that each side knows whether the case is being called on or whether an adjournment is being sought.
Where there is conflict, the County Registrar will decide whether a case should be listed.
All email applications must be sent by 4pm on 16 July 2020. Any correspondence after this date will not be considered at this callover.
The Court office email is mullingarcourtoffice@courts.ie and the following Court Service employees are the contact persons Rita Monaghan at 044-9305805, Bernie Murtagh at 044-9305806, Imelda Finn at 044-9305811.
I will accept consent adjournment applications by email to the next callover.
During the October sittings, each case will be given a defined time slot so as to ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to.
Lists of the cases assigned hearing dates will be posted on the website www.courts.ie by the middle of August.
Where a case settles before the hearing date, I ask the parties to immediately notify the court office by email so that the hearing time can be vacated and replaced before the October sitting commences. This is to maximise the use of the Court’s time.
