Trials

Please note that all Jury Trials scheduled for this sitting will be adjourned to the next Criminal Callover, date to be confirmed. 

District Court Appeals

The District Court Appeals listed for Friday the 22nd of January, 2021 will be adjourned to the next Criminal Callover, date to be confirmed.

Cases for Production

Where cases for Production are being further remanded can solicitors please inform the Monaghan Court Office by e-mail at monaghancourtoffice@courts.ie so that videolink be arranged for further remands. 

Cases for Progress

All cases listed for Progress will be adjourned/remanded to the next Criminal Callover, date to be confirmed.  Solicitors to inform clients on bail not to attend. Accused persons in custody to appear by way of videolink.  Solicitors to inform Court office by e-mail at monaghancourtoffice@courts.ie if status of case has changed.

All Other Criminal Matters

All other Criminal matters including sentencing, arraignments and bail applications will proceed in strict compliance with public health and the Court’s own guidance in relation to face coverings.

Licensing Cases

All Licensing applications will be adjourned to the next sessions.

Family Law

All Family Law cases are adjourned to the next callover.

PLEASE NOTE

It is important that all Court Users continue to practice the public health measures, follow the guidance of the Courts and the health and safety protocols put in place by the Courts Service namely:

  • wear face masks
  • physical distance at 2m
  • continue good hand and respiratory hygiene
  • avoid congregating in groups
  • comply with directions from Courts Service staff in relation to the management of the numbers of persons in court buildings and
  • if you have symptoms, are a close contact of a person who tested positive for Covid-19, have been directed to restrict your movement or are awaiting the results of a Covid-19 test, you should not to attend court.

We will be limited to the number of people that can safely be present in any of our Courthouse and Courtrooms at any time.  We have put in place measures to better regulate the numbers required to attend courts to ensure that court buildings do not become overcrowded. There may be times when those not actually necessary to the conduct of the case before the court may be asked to leave and we ask for your cooperation in this regard.
