The Court Service is pleased to inform practitioners and lay litigants that the Master of the High Court shall resume hearings as and from Tuesday the 6th October 2020
As previously advised in view of the public health guidelines that are currently in operation the Master’s Court, as with all other Courts, has changed due to the current pandemic. There will now be six (6) matters listed for each 30 minute time slots available and the Court will operate a one way entry system into the Court and a separate exit from the Court. A total of eight (8) persons will be permitted in the Court at any one time including the Master and the Registrar and Court staff.
Parties will be required to adhere to the public health guidelines regarding social distancing and the wearing of face coverings and to comply with any instructions issued by Court Staff in maintaining these guidelines. Parties will also be requested to wait in the main corridor on the 2nd Floor of the building until called forward
The Central Office of the High Court will not be notifying parties individually of the provisional date allocated to their proceedings
Parties may choose to accept the listed date and time as the new return date and when there is evidence put before the Court that both parties are aware that the matter is scheduled to be heard then the matter will proceed on the date listed. Parties may also choose not to attend Court on the date allocated in which case the listing will lapse. A return date in the Hillary Term may then be applied for upon application to the Central Office having obtained an appointment by email to attend the Central Office to lodge such an application.
The Master will hear the following matters as per the attached list from the 6th to the 9th October 2020 and the rescheduled dates for all remaining matters before the Master to the 22nd October 2020 will be published in the legal diary on Monday the 5th October 2020.
Please note that the return date allocated to parties by the Central Office may now not be the date by which the matter will be heard other than the 27th October 29th October and the 3rd and 4th November 2020 and parties are advised to check the attached listing to establish when a matter is scheduled for hearing.
