The High Court Bankruptcy List will resume on Monday 8 June 2020 and will continue every Monday thereafter up to and including 27 July 2020 with the exception of Monday 20 July 2020.
The maximum number of cases allowed in the list will be curtailed, cases will be staggered, and there will be a limit to the number of people allowed into the courtroom for each case due to the requirements for social distancing.
Cases which were listed for 23 and 30 March 2020, 20 and 27 April 2020 and 11, 18 and 25 May 2020 stand adjourned generally with liberty to re-enter pursuant to the Directions of the President dated 16 March 2020 and 17 April 2020. All such cases will be re-entered for dates from the 8 June 2020 onwards, taking into account the urgency of the matter and the limitations regarding the maximum number of cases permitted in the list. Parties will be notified by the Examiner’s Office of the dates for which their cases have been re-entered. We would ask for your patience while this process is being completed.
A party who wishes to apply (in advance of being contacted by the Examiner’s Office) for an early re-listing and can establish urgency should email the bankruptcy court registrar at examinersmail@courts.ie indicating the grounds of urgency.
We would like to continue to draw practitioners’ attention to Practice Direction HC 89 in relation to consent Orders for matters which were adjourned generally for example Motions to be struck out by consent.
