Pursuant to s.23 (3) and (14) of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020, with effect from the 1st January 2023 all persons remanded in custody by a Judge of the District Court, and all persons who are remanded on bail and who are in custody on unrelated matters and all persons who are in custody and serving a sentence on unrelated matters shall have all relevant applications as specified in s.23 (3) of the said Act heard using a live video link between the court and the place where the relevant person is located unless a Judge of the District Court is satisfied to do so is contrary to Justice.
