The Supreme Court - changes to jurisdiction and practice

The jurisdiction and practice of the Supreme Court has significantly changed following the establishment of the Court of Appeal.

With effect from 28th October 2014 the Supreme Court will operate under new Rules and a new practice direction. New forms for use by parties in appeals to the Supreme Court are available as part of the rules. 

The Chief Justice has issued a direction providing for the transfer to the Court of Appeal from the Supreme Court of classes of appeal to be determined by the Court of Appeal under the provisions of Article 64.3.1° of the Constitution together with an information note.
