Introduction of non-personal filing for Supreme and High Court Office

With effect from the 11th January 2012 Order 117A of the Rules of the Superior Courts allows court users to have the option of lodging court documents in the Supreme Court Office and in the offices attached to the High Court by post, or through a document exchange service, or by depositing them in a box provided for that purpose at each office.

Court users will still have the option of lodging and issuing documents in public offices which will continue to open to the public from 10:00am to 4:30pm each working day. All documents being lodged in court offices, whether personally or by non-personal filing, must be fully completed, signed and dated, and must have the appropriate fee stamped on them.  Documents on which the prescribed fee is not paid will be returned to the sender without being checked, and documents that are incomplete or incorrect will be returned with a brief query sheet indicating the defect(s) found on them.
